Jacques has been capturing precious moments with his camera since 1973. He was published in numerous photo magazines such as Zoom, Photo Magazine and Chasseur d’Images, and his reports have illustrated periodicals such as L’Express, Le Nouvel Observateur and Atlas.
In 2012, he filed a patent for a revolutionary technique for creating HDR images from video.
That’s how the LumiMakr adventure came about. Jacques Joffre is much more than a brilliant researcher.
He’s a daring and innovative spirit who never stops pushing back the boundaries of photography and HDR technology.
The photographer can now film a scene continuously: not only will the decisive moment no longer escape him but he will also be able to enhance it.

Early Years
Doctor of Science Jacques Joffre is a former teacher-researcher at the National School of Chemistry in Montpellier.
He decided to direct research work to overcome the constraints linked to the light exposure of scenes where the gap between shadows and highlights is pronounced. This is how he shared his passion with the world by co-founded HDRsoft in 2002, the origin of Photomatix software, which has become the world reference for creating HDR images
