📸 How does LumiMakr Photo work?
We'll tell you more about our second solution in a few months! 😉
⚡️ What is the difference between LumiMakr Photo and Video?
🎥 LumiMakr Video facilitates post-production by enhancing the color rendering of your shots, creating an immersive visual experience. HDR images feature a wider range of brightness, meaning that details in both dark and bright areas are perfectly rendered. This makes your videos, commercials or productions more compelling, captivating audiences and reinforcing the emotional impact of your message.
📸 LumiMakr Photo lets you create an HDR image from a video or burst of images by stacking several neighboring images of the chosen image, artificially increasing the dynamic range!
In this way, stacking technology overcomes the constraints of bracketing and makes it possible to create HDR images for moving scenes, thanks to the use of video. And, of course, the use of video and burst images will also enable you to capture decisive moments.
🧐 Does LumiMakr Photo only work for photos?
We're not the jealous type! We've come up with two software packages for inventive minds like yours:
⚡️ a software package and plug-in for photographers (LumiMakr Photo)
⚡️ and a plug-in for videographers (LumiMakr Video), so you can let your creativity shine through every moment you capture in motion.
The must-have with LumiMakr Photo? You can extract an image from a video
What is HDR?
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. HDR is as if your camera suddenly had the power to capture an incredible dynamic range!
What is the Dynamic Range of an image?
Dynamic range is a measure of the range of light intensity from the darkest shadows to the brightest highlights.
On cameras, it refers to the quantity of light and dark tones that can be represented in a single photo. The greater the variety, the greater the dynamic range and, therefore, the more faithful the image will be to reality.
What is bracketing?
Bracketing is a shooting technique that consists in taking several shots of the same scene, varying the exposure parameters. It allows you to shoot a series of several images (generally 3 photos, but you can do more) with a pre-set exposure difference chosen according to the scene.
So you take one correctly exposed photograph and two others, one underexposed and one overexposed, and combine them to obtain a result with the best possible dynamic range. The result: colors are vivid, dark areas are revealed and light areas sublimated.
How can I reduce ghosting?
Ghosting is an artifact in your photo caused by the movement of subjects in the HDR image, or by camera movement. When an element in the image moves or your camera moves, your subject will end up in different parts of each hdr image, and when the HDR software tries to align the images, it won't be able to align the moving subjects.
Yes, but... LumiMakr makes it possible to overcome these obstacles!
With the use of our cutting-edge technology, ghosting effects and the constraints of long pauses are a thing of the past: thanks to our stacking technology and the use of videos to create HDR images that's transform the magic of the moment into a striking reality.
Why should I shoot for HDR? What are the advantages?
The advantages are numerous, allowing you to reveal the beauty of your visual :
HDR lets you preserve details in shadows and highlights not found in a normal image. Get out of the ordinary and bring your photos to life by capturing a wider range of luminosity than is possible with a standard camera. Half magician, half physicist, play with light and reveal lost details to reveal the full beauty of your shots.
Your eye will always be the best sensor! HDR technology lets you create images that are more natural and faithful to what the human eye can see. That's right! We're able to see a much wider range of luminosity than the camera can capture in a single image. (In fact, you're a bit like Superman).
To reduce image noise: When you take a photo in difficult lighting conditions, your camera has to increase the ISO sensitivity to capture enough light. This causes image noise, a visible and unsightly graininess that can alter your image. With HDR, you can reduce this noise by combining several images taken at different ISO sensitivities. Say good-bye to noise, and get great shots, even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.
What is photo exposure?
Exposure is the amount of light received by your camera's sensor.
If your photo is too dark, it's said to be "under-exposed" or "blocked".
Underexposed : An underexposed image or video is one that lacks light. This type of complication occurs in poorly lit areas or in night photography, for example. When it's too dark, areas of the photo will come out black, because of these "blocked areas", and so the photo is unreadable.
Conversely, if your photo is too bright, it's said to be "over-exposed" or "burnt out".
Over-exposed : On the contrary, an over-exposed photo or video is too bright and has therefore received too much light to offer good legibility. High luminosity will lighten the image, and this is where we find the famous "burnt areas", which have received so much light that they become totally white and therefore illegible.
